Television series are a bit like a bag of sweets - once you break into it, you only stop when the bag is empty. I have always appreciated series, from "The Avengers" to "Star Trek" or "The Prisoner", and "Desperate" is also one of my bags of sweets although I got into it through someone else.

Quite naturally, it became a must to compare Barbie with the four friends of Wisteria Lane - four well-defined characters, a life full of futilities, Cornelian type choices, feminism and conservatism. Barbie has all that of course, perfectly summed up in the generic which is a little jewel of analysis of the place of women in society.
